Honey+ Oats Mask W/ Jojoba Oil

Image
Cleanse face Gather 1/2 cups oats Gather 1 1/2 tbsp. raw honey Gather 1 1/2 tbsp. coconut oil Gather 1 1/2 tbsp. plain Greek yogurt Gather jojoba oil Mix honey and Greek yogurt together in one bowl Blend the oats in a food processor until broken up Add the honey, yogurt and coconut oil to oats mixture and blend very well Add a few drops of  jojoba oil to mixture Grab a handful of the mask, and rub it gently all over your face Leave mask on your face to 20 minutes, and then rinse it off with a damp warm towel or cloth Notes: Great clarifying mask for your skin. The oats makes this mask a little messy so when applying use it over the sink or spread a towel. I like to add a little fresh squeezed lemon juice or apple cider vinegar sometimes to the mixture just to up the intensity for clear glowing skin.

Jojoba Oil For Lightening Up Acne Scars

Like rosehip seed oil , jojoba oil is a miracle worker for getting rid of acne and when used religiously, jojoba oil can rid you of your acne scars forever. Jojoba oil is extracted from the jojoba plant, a plant which has been utilized for centuries. It’s not only effective but it's affordable and suitable for all skin types. In addition to treating acne and acne scars, it also works wonders for stretch marks, eczema, sun-burn, wrinkles, and arthritis. Jojoba oil has antibacterial and antifungal properties fighting against the main bacteria responsible for acne while soothing and relieving itchy and inflamed skin. It also clears clogged pores by pushing out the pus formed from bacteria, dead skin cells and sebum. No, I Don't Want No Scrub

Image
...but I will take a scrub brush. And, if you’re like me and get dirt trapped deep down into your skin, then you’re going to want it too. Scrub brushes are good because, with the help of oscillating bristles or heads, they work to remove makeup, dirt, grime, and bacteria. It also acts as an exfoliate unblocking and keeping pores clear of dead skin cells. Using a scrub brush on your skin will also improve skin texture by increasing blood circulation. This will result in a more rosy glow, with a softer, smoother dermis over time. After hearing rave reviews about it and then seeing someone with great glowing skin recommend it, I decided to try a scrub brush for myself. I use my mild foam cleanser and massage that onto my face. Then I take my scrub brush and gently move it all around my face. You can see after the brush will have dirt on it, especially after a long day. My face does feel brightened and smooth. However, the con for me is that it does tend to dr...

Stretch Me Out

Exercising is a great way to clear your mind, unwind, and de-stress which makes for a healthier mind, body, and soul. I’m not talking about sweat-drenching, rigorous workouts at the gym, squat challenges, and anything that makes you feel like you need to lose something. I’m talking about exercise that makes you feel like you’re gaining peace, confidence, and strength. Light exercises that includes activities that causes you no shortness of breath. Leisure walks, yoga, swimming, stretching, or casual bike ride are a few examples. I particularly like stretching as my form of de-stressing exercise. Recently I started incorporating stretching into my morning routine and it really helps me to start the day right. Why I enjoy stretching is because it relaxes my body of tightness and tension and centers me. It’s inexpensive since all you need is a mat, pillow, and an open space. I like to do a bit of a meditative stretching where I set a calm, dark, quiet...

Rosehip Seed Oil For Clearing Acne Scars

Image
Some people are obsessed with make-up, shoes, bags...my obsession is organic essential oils and it doesn’t get any better than rosehip seed oil for getting rid of acne scars. Not to get confused with rose essential oil, rosehip oil stands out from other essential oils because of its high vitamin A content, which binds the skin cells together and acts as an astringent, washing away impurities and tightening up your skin. If you look at most cosmetic products like moisturizers, shampoos, and lotions you will see rosehip oil added for its skin and hair rejuvenating and healing properties. Rosehip oil not only helps heal wounds and burns and removes scars, but it does it fast all the while keeping your skin hydrated. It also helps reduce the appearance of stretch marks, age spots, scars and hyperpigmentation. The vitamin C antioxidants stimulate collagen production. Due to the antioxidants, rosehip oil has the ability to penetrate into deeper layers of skin. Th...

Complexion-Perfecting Mask

Image
I saw a great article once that had a great mask by Cornelia Zicu, global chief creative officer for Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas, which was for blemishes. It featured cloves which helps clear acne due to the eugenol, a natural antiseptic that balances the skin and stops future breakouts. Gather 1 tsp. ground clove Gather 1 tsp. raw honey 3 drops of fresh lemon juice Combine all ingredients in a bowl, and apply on your entire face Leave on for 20mins and then rinse off with cool water Notes: This is a great mask. If you don't have ground clove, you can use 2 drops of organic clove oil. Clove oil is very potent and does tingle  when applied on skin, so it's important not to use too much. Honey and fresh lemon juice are always great for soft, clear skin.
