No Touchy

When you see a pimple, do you squeeze it? If you’re like me then the answer is yes. In the moment it’s only about getting rid of this protruding creature from down under, rising up off your skin, sometimes very painful. However, after the relief you’re left with a reminder of where the creature once lived. This happens a couple of more times and before you know it, you’re looking like a ripe banana. Trust me, I know all too well. Squeezing pimples are the worst thing a person can do. Touching your face with dirty hands and fingernails are a sure sign to add more pimples then get rid of them. Picking, popping, and squeezing should all be avoided since it can turn a minor breakout into permanent acne scars. Harsh scrubs and face mask peels should also be avoided as they can be too much for stressed pimpled skin, therefore leaving permanent scarring.

Acne Scars

What is happening? Millions of people suffer from acne and acne related issues. Everyone’s reason for getting acne is different but whether it be stress, poor diet, hormones, poor hygiene, environment, etc., many are left with scarring, especially when acne breakouts penetrate the skin deeply. When the healing process begins and the acne clears, the body tries to repair the damage. During this process the body releases collagen, a substance that gives support to the skin. Too much (raised acne scars) or too little (depressed acne scars) collagen the body produces can affect your skin and will leave scars. So what do we do? Of course the first step is figuring out the cause of your acne. There is no point in healing your acne scars only to keep breaking out with new bumps.
