Stretch Me Out

Exercising is a great way to clear your mind, unwind, and de-stress which makes for a healthier mind, body, and soul.

I’m not talking about sweat-drenching, rigorous workouts at the gym, squat challenges, and anything that makes you feel like you need to lose something. I’m talking about exercise that makes you feel like you’re gaining peace, confidence, and strength. Light exercises that includes activities that causes you no shortness of breath. Leisure walks, yoga, swimming, stretching, or casual bike ride are a few examples.

I particularly like stretching as my form of de-stressing exercise. Recently I started incorporating stretching into my morning routine and it really helps me to start the day right. Why I enjoy stretching is because it relaxes my body of tightness and tension and centers me. It’s inexpensive since all you need is a mat, pillow, and an open space.

I like to do a bit of a meditative stretching where I set a calm, dark, quiet setting with either no or light healing music. I can go at my own pace taking long deep breaths. I always feel lighter, looser, elongated, and ready to start my day. People with stressful days can do a couple of bedtime stretches to help them to clear the mind before bed, that way ensuring a better sleep and no stress morning acne bumps.

This total body stretch video was a great help to get me started on a daily routine. It’s a short video that stretches the whole body but is beginner friendly.

Exercise is a key factor to a healthy body inside and out. After any work out that causes light sweat, don't forget to rinse your face with water and or use a toner and cotton pad to wipe away dirt.
